The poor girl's father had a stroke and died. Beauty became depressed, her sister attempted suicide, and the two sisters had a fight. One day Beauty grew a pair of wings on her back and flew to a nearby town to live as a human. She told the people of the town that she was a dragon. The people believed her. Then, the princess married a prince and lived happily ever after.
Beauty agreed to the tasks her father set for them because she wanted to help her family. She wanted to do something good. The first job was to dress up as women at the local country club. They were instructed to play bridge and chitchat with the ladies for four hours each evening. After completing the task, the two sisters were unhappy with the results. But Beauty was impressed with the ladies' kindness.
Feeling as though their end was near, Beauty's father told his daughters to prepare for his demise by undertaking three tasks that, once completed, would save their family's life. The first was to dress up as women and converse with the local ladies at the country club. The second was to become a circus performer and perform at a ball. The third was to become a star and be famous. However, Beauty's older sister, the more ambitious of the two sisters, refused to perform in front of the public. She had become too ashamed of her sister and refused to perform on stage.
After being taught how to play bridge, the sisters became eager to perform on stage. They went to the circus show and became the star attraction for a full day. They became so enamored with their new lifestyle that they decided to become famous. However, Beauty's sister kept a treasured item throughout her life which had been the symbol of her individuality and had served as a reminder of her identity as a young girl.
I have a photograph of a little girl in my mind. I can close my eyes, and she is there, and her face is so cute. I almost didn't recognize her as a girl, but her expression, her overall appearance, the way she held her body, seemed to tell a story of someone who was intelligent, bold, and bold-facedly crazy.
